DAY 01: AIRPORT – BINJAI
After the welcome, we will take a short city tour and visit, among others: Mesjid Raya "The Great Mosque", the Maimoon Sultan Palace, a Chinese temple and the Merdeka Walk field. Then we will drive to Binjai (1 hour) and check-in at Depary Homestay & Waroeng Transit. Binjai is called “Rambutan City” - if it is harvesting time, there is the opportunity to try the fruits of the rambutan tree (rambutan is related to lychee).

DAY 02: BINJAI – TANGKAHAN (B)
After breakfast, departure to Tangkahan (approx. 3 hours` drive), located on the edge of the Gunung Leuser National Park.
Enjoy the impressive journey through the unique landscape of North Sumatra. We will stop at Batang Serangan market for coffee break.
Check in at Mountain View Cottages & Villa. The rest of the day is at your disposal and you may want to take a short walk to the bridges Isabel and Nini Galang to enjoy the scenery of Gunung Leuser National Park. Through the bridge you can see the Elephant Camp or just relax (why not swim in Batang River?).

DAY 03: TANGKAHAN (B)
After breakfast we will take a short walk to the elephant center. We will join the mahouts/Ranger to wash the elephants in the river. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the jungle and let the sounds of the forest affect you.

DAY 04: TANGKAHAN – BUKIT LAWANG (B-L)
After breakfast we will drive to Bukit Lawang. After check-in in at the lodge, we will set off on a 3-hour jungle trek in Gunung Leuser National Park.
We will discover the peculiarities of the tropical rainforest, whose tree canopy is so dense that hardly any light penetrates. Different plant species have developed very different techniques to get enough light. For example, the lianas that grow high up tree trunks are a type of climbing tree. We will have the possibility to see Orang Utan on their own habitat and other kind of animal such as Thomas Leaf Monkeys, Long Tail Macaque, Black Gibbon etc. We will have lunch in a comfortable place in the middle of the jungle.Overnight stay at the lodge.
DAY 05: Bukit Lawang - Berastagi (B)
The cooler mountainous region will be our destination today. After breakfast we will drive to Berastagi in the Karo Batak highlands via the village of Pamah.
On the way, we will visit one of the traditional villages, where you can see the typical Batak houses with their characteristic clan and are reminiscent of the Toraja architectural style on the island of Sulawesi. After arriving in Berastagi we will visit the fruit market. Check-in at the hotel.

DAY 06: Berastagi – Ketambe (B)
After breakfast we will drive to Ketambe (a village in the southeast of Aceh province) at the foot of Gunung Leuser National Park. Check-in in a simple guesthouse.

DAY 07: KETAMBE Jungle Tour / Overnight Stay in the Jungle (B-L-D)
After breakfast we will start a fascinating hike through Gunung Leuser National Park. Here we can discover the rich flora and fauna of the jungle, listen to the chirping of the birds and, with a little luck, see one of the endangered Black Gibbons. The experienced tour guide will be happy to answer your questions about the fauna and flora as well as the country and its people. Today we will spend the night in tents in the jungle (the large luggage will remain in the guesthouse, and we will only take the essentials in small backpacks).

DAY 08: Jungle - KETAMBE (B-L)
Today after breakfast we will go on a trekking tour through the rainforest. You should wear good shoes (this is not an extreme hike, but also not a flip-flop tour). There are also leeches in the bush, which you can fend off with long trousers and mosquito repellent. But don't worry, they are neither poisonous nor do they transmit diseases, and they don’t hurt - in other words: it's just annoying. If you get sucked in, just flick it off. The jungle is wonderful. Lots of great plants that you've heard of (e.g. lianas, eucalyptus, mahogany), and some that you've never heard of before. The afternoon is free for swimming in the clean river. And that's wonderful in the heat (the water is nice and cool)! At one point on the river there is a warm spring that smells slightly of sulphur. Nature cure! Then we will go back to Ketambe.

DAY 09: KETAMBE – SIDIKALANG – TELE – SAMOSIR ISLAND (B)
Early in the morning after breakfast we will start our journey to Samosir Island via Sidikalang Town and via Tele (with a spectacular panorama of Lake Toba). On the way we will visit a few Batak villages. In the afternoon we will arrive at Tuk-Tuk Siadong. Check in at the hotel.

DAY 10: SAMOSIR ISLAND (B)
Free program.
DAY 11: SAMOSIR ISLAND – LAKE TOBA – MEDAN - AIRPORT (B)
After breakfast, we will leave Lake Toba and take you to Kuala Namu International Airport for your flight to your next destination or home.
End of program.
